CH4N2S Thiourea The Versatile Solution for Various Industrial and Medical Needs
Thiourea is an organic sulfur-containing compound with the chemical formula CH4N2S. It is a white and glossy crystal with a bitter taste, a density of 1.41g/cm ³, and a melting point of 176-178 ℃. Used as raw materials for manufacturing drugs, dyes, resins, compression molding powders, etc., as well as vulcanization accelerators for rubber and flotation agents for metal minerals. Calcium hydrosulfide is formed by the reaction of hydrogen sulfide with lime slurry, and then with calcium cyanamide. It can also be produced by melting ammonium thiocyanate or by reacting cyanamide with hydrogen sulfide.
