Remove Heavy Metal Impurities with Sodium Sulfide in Industrial Applications.
Sodium sulfide, also known as stinky alkali, stinky soda, or sulfide alkali, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Na2S. It appears as a colorless crystalline powder, soluble in water,, and slightly soluble in ethanol. When it comes into contact with the skin and hair, it can cause burns, so sodium sulfide is commonly known as sulfide alkali. When exposed to air, sodium sulfide releases toxic hydrogen sulfide gas with a foul egg odor. Industrial sodium sulfide has colors of pink, brownish red, and earthy yellow due to impurities.
product name | sodium fulfide |
specifications | 25kg/bag |
chemical formula | Na2S |
cas number | 1313-82-2 |
EINEC S number | 215-211-5 |
appearance | colored flake soild |
1. Adding an appropriate amount of sodium sulfide to the alkaline etching solution of aluminum and alloys can significantly improve the surface quality of etching, and can also be used for the removal of alkaline soluble heavy metal impurities such as zinc in the alkaline etching solution.
2. Sodium sulfide can also be used for the treatment of conductive layers in direct electroplating, by reacting sodium sulfide with palladium to form colloidal palladium sulfide, achieving the goal of forming a good conductive layer on non-metallic surfaces.
3. Used as a corrosion inhibitor. It is also a raw material for sodium thiosulfate, sodium polysulfide, sulfur dyes, etc.
4. Used for manufacturing sulfurized dyes, leather depilators, metal smelting, photography, artificial silk denitrification, etc.
