Fireworks and Dry Batteries Lithium Chloride Available in Bulk
Lithium chloride is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula LiCl and a molecular weight of 42.39. It is a white crystal with deliquescence. Salty in taste, easily soluble in water, organic solvents such as ethanol, pyridine, etc. It belongs to the low toxicity category, but has strong irritant and corrosive effects on the eyes and mucous membranes.
Lithium chloride is mainly used in the field of air conditioning, as a flux, desiccant, chemical reagent, and in the production of fireworks, dry batteries, and metallic lithium.
product name | Lithium chloride |
specifications | 25kg/bag |
chemical formula | LiCl |
cas number | 7447-41-8 |
EINEC S number | 231-212-3 |
appearance | white crystal |
The raw material for producing metallic lithium. Fluxes used in the production of metals through electrolysis, such as titanium and aluminum, are used as welding agents for aluminum, dehumidifiers for air conditioning, and special cement raw materials. They are also used in flames and in the battery industry for the production of lithium manganese battery electrolytes. Anhydrous LiCl is mainly used for the electrolytic preparation of fluxes and fluxes for lithium and aluminum metals, as well as as as moisture absorbing (dehumidifying) agents in non cryogenic air conditioning units.
Lithium metal can be obtained by electrolyzing a mixed molten salt of LiCl/KCl at 600 ℃. Lithium metal in industry is produced using this method. Lithium chloride is also used as a dehumidifier in air conditioning systems, as a good flux in the electrolysis of metals or in the preparation of powders (such as in the production of titanium and aluminum), as a precipitant for RNA, and as an additive in Stille reactions.
Lithium chloride can be prepared into solutions of different concentrations with N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as a solvent for dissolving polymers. Commonly used as an eluent for GPC measurement of molecular weight.
